Publisher: RSS Feed Ads

    Mentioned in the previous section, RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication.  RSS is mostly used by blogs.  An RSS Feed is a file that is automatically updated every time you update your blog with a new post.  People who have subscribed to your RSS feed are notified when you have updated your blog with a new post.  When a visitor views your actual RSS feed, they're presented with a list of your blog posts (a title, date, description, etc..).  Between the actual posts that are listed, you can place text and banner advertisements.  This provides yet another avenue in which you can monetize your website.  The amount you can earn through this method depends on the industry your blog follows, and how many RSS subscribers your site has. 


RSS Ad Services


  • FeedBurner.com
    Feedburner is the most popular service for all things RSS and was bought out by Google.  You can use feedburner to show you how many subscribers your blog has, along with a lot of other metrics.  On top of this, you can also use it to monetize your feed.

  • Pheedo.com
    Pheedo works in the usual fashion of connecting publishers (usually blog owners) and advertisers, specifically for advertising with RSS feeds.  They offer several customizable solutions for advertisers and publishers.
